Hamlet, The Essence of Man

This illustration of Hamlet with the skull of Yorick is from a collection of 15 of the main characters from the best known and most beloved of the plays by Shakespeare. Inspired by main character's lines, "What a piece of work is a man! how noble in reason, how infinite in faculties" and "And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust?," each character is rendered as combinations of elements from the Periodic Table, and related chemical reactions. Here Hamlet represents the six noble (inert) gases: Helium (He), Neon (Ne), Argon (Ar), Krypton (Kr), Xenon (Xe), Radon (Rn). The downloadable 8k file is perfect for large prints and posters.
