"Take courage; do not be afraid."
Matthew 14:27
In the early morning of January 13, 1866, in the village of Filipov in northern Bohemia, a chronically ill weaver named Magdalena Kade lay confined to her bed after years of severe illness and paralysis. While praying with a companion, she reported an apparition of the Virgin Mary, who addressed her briefly before vanishing. Magdalena immediately rose, fully restored to health. The event was quickly recognized as a miraculous healing and gave rise to a pilgrimage site, where both the house and a nearby spring became associated with healing. Rendered as a hillside spring near Zlaté Hory in northern Moravia.
